The Festival of the Pots, a cherished event celebrating creativity and craftsmanship, will feature many local artists, including Otaki locals Brian and Chrissy, a dynamic husband-and-wife duo from the Ōtaki Market.
Known for their stunning garden art, Brian and Chrissy seamlessly blend their individual talents to craft unique, nature-inspired creations that are as functional as they are beautiful.
You can find Brian and Chrissy at the Otaki Market on Sundays, or head down to the Festival of the Pots during Wellington Anniversary weekend, at the Anam Cara Gardens.
A Perfect Partnership in Art and Nature
Brian is a skilled woodworker whose pieces echo the beauty and simplicity of the natural world. From intricately carved garden sculptures to practical outdoor decor, his craftsmanship highlights the inherent character of the wood he works with. Each piece tells a story, transforming natural materials into lasting works of art.
Chrissy complements Brian’s creations with her passion for plants and upcycling. Her bird feeders, made from repurposed pots, plates, and cups, are both whimsical and sustainable. Each feeder is thoughtfully designed to be a charming addition to any garden while providing a sanctuary for birds. She also incorporates succulents into her art, enhancing its connection to nature.
Catch Brian and Chrissy at the Festival of the Pots (Thursday 16 January – Monday January 2025) and let their artistry bring your garden to life. Or see them at the Otaki Market every Sunday.
