We are excited to announce the Ōtaki Market Flag Designing Project, a community-driven initiative to create unique flags that will proudly represent the spirit of our beloved market!
This project invites everyone in the community—whether you’re a budding artist, a seasoned creator, or simply passionate about Ōtaki—to submit your flag designs.
To make this project even more meaningful, the talented women from the Ōtaki Women’s Community Club will bring the designs to life by hand-sewing each flag, ensuring that every stitch reflects the heart and soul of our community. Your design could become a lasting symbol of Ōtaki’s vibrant market culture, displayed proudly for all to see!
Let’s come together and showcase our creativity—submit your design today and be a part of something truly special!

The Spirit of Otaki
Ōtaki is a town rich in history, culture, and a strong sense of community. Think about what makes Ōtaki unique—whether it’s the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape, the close-knit neighborhoods, or the cultural diversity. Your flag should reflect the pride and warmth of the town, highlighting its people, traditions, and local identity.
Ideas to Consider:
The town's connection to nature (forests, rivers, coastline).
Māori heritage and culture, which is a vital part of Ōtaki.
